Quick Start: Installing Drupal in Six Easy Steps
Okay - I'm going to give you the quickest start you will probably ever get when it comes to installing Drupal.
Quick Start:
1. Domain and Hosting - you need a site name and a host - I use and recommend Bluehost.com.
If you go with Bluehost, this will be too easy.
So, you have your name and you signed up with Bluehost.
2. Log In

3. Once you are in the cPanel, scroll all the way to the bottom.
Under "Software/Services" you will see an Icon for Simple Scripts - click it.

4. After you are redirected to Simple Scripts via Bluehost (and going there via bluehost is very very important) you will want to scroll down to the middle of the page. Under "Content Management" you will see an Icon for Drupal - click it.
<
5. Next Screen - At the bottom, click Install Now.

6. Complete Installation - Define which version of Drupal to install - the default setting is set to the most current and most stable version - you want that one.
Define your domain root - typically you will want just your domain name - Example - www.yoursite.com It is best not to use a subdomain (an example would be www.yoursub.yoursite.com - you typically don't need or want that). You also don't want to put it in a subdirectory (an example subdirectory would be www.yoursite.com/subdirectory - again don't need or want).
Okay, you have selected your vesion and selected www.yoursite.com. Next, make sure all boxes are checked - then click "Complete".

That's it! You've just installed Drupal in six easy and I mean easy steps.
Oh! I should tell you that as soon as you click complete it will generate a username and password on that same page - so DO NOT close that page before you copy it. That is the one and only username and password you will get, if you checked that box.
Once you log into Drupal you can change it.
What if you don't have Bluehost or just want to manually install Drupal?
If you want to manually install Drupal, go to the next page.
